July 14 was the beginning of a miserable hot streak in Central Indiana. But that didn’t stop Carly and Anne! Together along with 6 or 8 outfits each, we headed for Broad Ripple and Downtown Noblesville to take some rockin’ Senior Pictures.
We started in Broad Ripple behind the Vogue. They have a red door that Carly and Anne had to have in their pictures. The graffiti wall behind Kroger was another popular stop. We ended up in Noblesville and found the railroad tracks over the White River could not be missed. I was a little nervous, but not these two.
You guys are awesome and I had a blast with you. Even if sometimes it felt like a blast furnace!
So before the weather turned unbearably hot, I met with Tara and Josh at Washington Park near Avon. It’s a beautiful park with lots to do as we soon found out. I had met Tara several times before, but really didn’t know Josh very well. I quickly determined he was one of the most fun grooms I’ve ever worked with. I haven’t laughed so hard in a long time! They played on the playground, made fish faces – in honor of Josh’s sister, I think – and “frolicked” through the dead grass. I know we got some strange looks from the little kids, but they won’t be harmed permanently! The best part, by far, was the way they looked at each other when they were being serious. Each one feels they are the luckiest person on earth – as it should be. Can’t wait for the wedding guys – I’ll be sure to bring my Depends! See you soon!
June 9th was a very popular day this year – graduations, birthdays, and most importantly – Cortnaye Smith and Daniel Love got married! When we did their engagement pictures, Cortnaye and Daniel took me to a farm owned by friends of theirs. We walked all over and got lots of great shots. Clearly, the two of them are very comfortable outside and casual. So when they changed their venue to a location (in the middle of nowhere – seriously!) in the country west of Indy, I knew it would be rustic and beautiful. But, I didn’t expect the amazing touches the bride and her mom added to an already beautiful location. Just about everything was made by hand and all of the special touches were gorgeous and so personal to Cortnaye and Daniel. These two are fabulous and their wedding is one I won’t soon forget! Congratulations and Blessings to Cortnaye and Daniel Love!
Welcome to little Riley! What a handsome guy! Mom Erica and Dad Brandon had me photograph their wedding a few years ago. Now I get to join in the welcome to their first baby, Riley Joseph. Riley was born on May 31st, spoiling mom’s last day of school, but all is forgiven – he’s a perfect little guy and very huggable!
What a sweet little peanut! Baby Hudson is my daughter’s new neighbor. His mommy, Heather, and his daddy, Trent, also live with him, as does their beautiful dog, Shiloh. Hudson is a happy, sweet baby and was very cooperative during his photo shoot! Congratulations Heather, Trent, and Shiloh! I can’t wait for our next playtime – I mean, photo shoot!
I had the privilege of being Emily and Chad’s wedding photographer and now they have added to their family with baby Easton! He is an absolute angel – beautiful like his mom and tough like his dad. I just wanted to kiss him the whole time. Welcome to the world Easton!
Alrighty, here we go! The new website launched yesterday! Thank you to Brian Hansen with Hansen Multimedia. He did a wonderful job, and now, as he reminds me, it’s up to me to take care of this little baby! I love that I will be able to share with you all of the wonderful couples and families that I get to interact with and that truly bless my life. I’ll also have a chance to share a little about myself and my family.
As I get better at this I will link articles to my Facebook page and let you know there when I’ve updated the blog. For now, check back here often for fun new information. I’ll try to share some tips and tricks on photography and who knows, maybe a recipe or two – Ok, who am I kidding, KFC won’t give me the recipe! Feel free to leave comments or just say Hi!
Thanks for visiting!
I’ve known Kylie for many years. Kylie and my daughter, Megan were in high school together. At one point, people thought they were twins! Kylie’s mom, Claudette, and I got quite a kick out of that. Both of us distinctly remember giving birth to one baby!
Kylie and Sam blessed me incredibly by asking me to photograph their wedding! We started by heading to downtown Indianapolis to do engagement pictures as soon as the weather was warm enough!
As it happens, Kylie is a big Green Bay Packers fan. Despite our best efforts, nothing Sam or I could say or do could convince her of the error of her ways! So it looks as if theirs will be a mixed marriage – Colts and Packers!
For someone as social as I am, it’s taken me a long time to get on the “blogging” bandwagon! I guess it’s because I’m not sure I have anything anyone will want to read, let alone comment on!
However, I am pretty busy, and as a result, I have a lot going on and a lot happening. So, I’ll use this blog as a way to keep friends, family, and clients updated on some of my many activities.
Feel free to comment and let me know if you think I’m crazy – which is kind of a given, I guess!
Enjoy as we go on this journey together!
